Tour the Oversized Wall Maneki-neko and Ceramic Lucky Cats Lined Along the Street

About this spot

A cat-filled street unique to Tokoname, known as a production center for maneki-neko (lucky cats). The oversized lucky cat face peering down from above the wall commands impressive presence and is a classic photo spot. Along the walls, ceramic maneki-neko figures with various blessings crafted by local pottery artists are lined up, with life-like ceramic cats hidden throughout. Walking while searching for your favorite cat naturally brings smiles to your face.

Tips

The street runs alongside a car road, so watch for traffic when photographing. Many maneki-neko are positioned high on walls; stepping back to capture them in full creates better photos. Located at the entrance side of the pottery walking trail, making it easy to visit together.

Best time to visit

Approximately 30-45 minutes. Recommended to tour together with the walking trail.
