Tour the Historic Miso Warehouses and Enjoy Hacchou Miso Lunch Specialties Like Miso Nikomi Udon
About this spot
A visitor facility at a long-established miso brewery that has continued traditional miso-making in Hacchou Village (now Happi-cho), located eight blocks (approximately 870 meters) west of Okazaki Castle. The factory tour showcases the traditional method of aging miso in large cedar barrels topped with stones stacked in a conical shape, while the historical hall teaches about miso-making history and tools. After the tour, enjoy hacchou miso specialties like miso nikomi udon and miso dengaku at the on-site dining area. The shop sells not only miso but also miso-flavored sweets, making souvenir selection fun.
