Stroll through the red-brick tableware museum and enjoy plate-painting experience & shop for dishware

About this spot

A verdant complex facility born from the former factory grounds of Noritake, world-renowned for fine Western tableware. The site's red-brick buildings and smokestacks are picturesque just to walk through. At the Craft Center, you can watch craftspeople's intricate hand-painting techniques up close. The plate-painting experience, enjoyable for children, makes a perfect souvenir as your fired piece will be delivered to you later. The shop features outlet dishware as well, offering adults shopping fun too. The grassy gardens are perfect for a rest break, with a relaxed afternoon atmosphere.

Tips

It's within walking distance from Nagoya Station and easily accessible from the Aonami Line. The gardens and shop are free to enjoy; the Craft Center and Museum require paid admission. Plate-painting experiences have set reception times, so check upon arrival if you wish to participate. The flat grounds are easy to navigate with strollers.
