Sakai's symbolic park nestled between two colossal kofun: Nintoku Tenno Ryo Kofun and Ryuchu Tenno Ryo Kofun. The expansive lawn allows children to run freely, while numerous benches and shaded spots provide comfortable resting places for grandparents. The park features a full-fledged Japanese garden (fee required) with a hill and pond that adults enjoy traversing while viewing seasonal flowers and autumn foliage. The Sakai City Museum and Mozu Kofun Cluster Visitor Center are also within the park, serving well as a base for kofun exploration. In spring, it becomes famous for cherry blossoms, and the landscape with small kofun scattered among greenery is uniquely characteristic of Sakai, where "the entire town is a UNESCO World Heritage site." The key to enjoying this three-generation walk is to spend relaxed time here without constant rushing.

Tips

Just across the road from Nintoku Tenno Ryo Kofun's worship site, with flat pathways. Even strollers and elderly grandparents with concerns about leg strength can walk comfortably. The Japanese garden charges 200 yen for adults; note the closed days. The Mozu Kofun Cluster Visitor Center near the worship site offers free aerial photography theater videos, perfect for previewing the museum visit ahead.
