About this spot
A symbolic tower of Kobe that opened in 1963, with an elegant curved silhouette resembling a vertically stretched drum and a striking scarlet color set against blue skies. Following the 2024 renovation, the observation floor has been completely renewed. From the top outdoor deck, you can experience a 360-degree panorama of Kobe Harbor, Mount Rokko, and the cityscape with the sea breeze rushing through. From a height of approximately 108 meters, passing ships and the Ferris Wheel look like miniatures, and children will surely be glued to the windows. Relaxing while viewing the scenery on the slowly rotating floor is also recommended. The nighttime illumination is beautiful, making this a landmark where you can fully savor Kobe as a port town.
Tips
Located within Meriken Park, easily accessible right from your park exploration. On weekends, the ticket counter can get crowded; advance purchase through the official website is smooth. The outdoor deck has strong sea winds, so watch that children's hats don't blow away. Accessible by elevator, so it's safe for families with strollers and small children. A combination ticket with the Maritime Museum is a good value.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. Morning has fewer crowds and offers clear views from the observation floor.
