A confectionery theme park operated by Ishiya Confectionery, known for "Shiroi Koibito" (White Lover), Hokkaido's iconic souvenir. On the factory tour, you can watch through glass as Shiroi Koibito—langue de chat cookies sandwiched with chocolate—are baked and packaged along the production line, enveloping you in sweet aromas that make children's eyes shine. At the sweets-making workshop, families can create original confections together. In the courtyard surrounded by British-style buildings, you'll find a rose garden and the mechanical clock tower "Chocolate Carnival," where figures spring to life every hour. The shop brimms with limited-edition sweets. Your day ends with a sweet, smile-filled moment shared by the whole family.
Tips
About 15 minutes by car from Okura-yama; by subway, about a 7-minute walk from Miyanosawa Station on the Tozai Line, and you can travel directly from Maruyama-koen Station without transfers. The shop and courtyard are free-access areas; factory tours are paid (around ¥800 for adults, ¥400 for children). Sweets-making experiences are by time-slot reservation, so book early if you wish to participate.
Best time to visit
Takes about 1.5 hours. Late afternoon is less crowded with tour groups and allows for a more relaxed visit. The mechanical clock tower performs every hour.
