A representative flower field of Hokkaido that has pioneered lavender tourism in Furano. The grounds feature a traditional lavender field on a hillside with Furano's longest history, as well as colorful flower fields where lavender, poppies, baby's breath, and other blooms form bands like a rainbow. At the Perfume House and Distillation House, you can observe the process of making lavender fragrance products, while potpourri and essential oils at the shop are standard souvenirs. A moment spent holding the signature lavender soft-serve ice cream while gazing at purple flower waves and the Tokachi Mountain Range is the essence of a Furano summer. The free admission and parking are a bonus, and walking in the morning light makes flower colors and fragrances feel all the more vivid.
Tips
About 25 minutes' walk from JR Furano Line Nakafurano Station; by car, access via National Route 237 is straightforward with free parking. During peak lavender season, nearby roads and the grounds get crowded, so arriving early in the morning is recommended for comfort. The flower field has little shade, so don't forget a hat, sun protection, and comfortable walking shoes.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Early morning after opening is quiet with beautiful light. Lavender is at its peak in summer.
