Standing right in front of Asamushi-Onsen Station, this roadside station serves as the gateway to the hot spring town. From the observation floor on the 5th floor, you get a sweeping view of Mutsu Bay with Yu-no-shima island floating on it, a luxurious location where you can gaze at the sea while you eat. The products corner on the 1st floor is lined with Aomori specialties and souvenirs, from apple sweets to processed scallop goods, letting you take care of all your trip shopping in one place. The building also has an observation bathhouse, fitting for a hot spring town, letting you casually enjoy the atmosphere of Asamushi, a noted hot spring destination. Located exactly halfway between the aquarium and the beach, it makes a perfect base for a family lunch and break. It's also a reassuring home base for your Asamushi walk, convenient for resting on a bench and discussing your next plans.

Tips

Just a short walk from Asamushi-Onsen Station, and there's also free parking, making it convenient by car too. Window seats on the observation floor fill up first around lunchtime, so it's best to arrive earlier, before noon. Since many souvenirs are bulky, another option is to stop by again on your way back to buy them.

About 1 hour 15 minutes. Arriving before noon lets you enjoy a relaxed meal at a window seat while looking out over Mutsu Bay
