About this spot

A glass-themed park standing just beside Genbikei Gorge, boasting one of northeastern Japan's largest scales. The interior displays collected glassware from Japan and abroad—delicate glasses, flower vases, and charming glass miniatures—creating a treasure-hunt-like experience as you explore the sparkling showroom. Glass-making experience programs are offered, allowing three generations to create one-of-a-kind pieces as a memorable keepsake. The grounds face the Genbikei Gorge, and from here you can observe the flying dumplings from Kakokyoya across the way—a unique vantage point. A café corner overlooks the gorge for a restful break, making this an ideal rest stop during your gorge walk.

Tips

Walking distance from the Genbikei Gorge parking lot, easily combined with gorge exploration. Admission is free. Some glass experiences accept same-day registration, but during busy periods there may be waits, so apply early. Wrap fragile souvenir glass carefully and handle with care when transporting.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1.5 hours required. Leisurely including lunch. For experiences, allow extra afternoon time.
