The garden, tucked in a corner of the city, overflows with flowers in a way that belies its urban location. During season, roses of various colors and forms bloom in competition, enveloping the entire area in sweet fragrance. The garden features rose arches and paths that make every angle photogenic, ideal for taking three-generation commemorative photos surrounded by flowers. Simply sitting on a bench and gazing at the flowers soothes the soul, making it the perfect way to end a full day of walking—a quiet, refined healing spot. Rose seasons arrive twice yearly: in early summer and autumn.
Tips
About 5 minutes by car from Ōdate Station, located in the city center and near Katsuki Park. Entry is free. Roses bloom twice yearly in early summer and autumn; opening hours vary by season, so check in advance. Some paths are soil trails, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes required. Just before sunset, when soft western light illuminates the roses, is perfect for photography.
