A guidance facility adjacent to the Oyu Stone Circle, a component asset of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site "Jomon Heritage Sites of Hokkaido and Northern Honshu." The exhibition hall displays pottery, stone tablets, and stone tools excavated from the site, with clear explanations of the lives and spiritual world of the Jomon people who created the stone circle. Before visiting the actual site, learning about mysteries such as why the stone circle was built and what the sundial-shaped stone arrangement meant will transform a simple arrangement of stones into something meaningful. Experiential activities (additional fee, approximately 30 minutes or more) such as pottery-making and comma-shaped bead crafting are also available, making it perfect for elementary students' research projects. When combined with a visit to the actual site, this facility multiplies the romance of ancient times many times over.
Tips
Approximately 30 minutes by car from Ogosezawa Mine. While the exhibition hall has an admission fee, the rest areas and shops inside are free. Some periods have Monday closures, so it's wise to check opening days before your visit. If you want to do a Jomon experience activity, apply with plenty of time in the reception schedule.

Approximately 1 hour required. Visiting before seeing the stone circle deepens your understanding. Early afternoon allows for a peaceful visit
