A celebrated ramen restaurant—Hand-pulled curly noodles and crystal-clear soy broth enjoyed by all three generations

About this spot

This famous shop is synonymous with Shirakawa ramen and is known nationwide. The hand-pulled curly noodles made fresh each morning by the shop owner have a distinctive piropiro texture that holds the broth beautifully, and they pair perfectly with the crystal-clear soy-based broth carefully made from chicken and pork bones. The char-grilled chashu roasted over charcoal is also highly regarded, and despite its simplicity, this deep and flavorful bowl attracts ramen enthusiasts from across the prefecture. The mild, old-fashioned taste is approachable for everyone, from grandparents to grandchildren, making it ideal for a three-generation lunch. From one bowl, you'll vividly understand why Shirakawa is called "the town of ramen."

Tips

Located in the suburbs about 10 minutes by car from central Shirakawa; lines form quickly on weekends. Either arrive before opening or aim for early afternoon, shortly after opening. Seating is first-come, first-served until sold out, so lunch earlier in the day is recommended. Bring cash for payment.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. To avoid long lines, aim for early opening time, around 11 a.m.
