A science museum housed in the upper floors of Big Eye (ビッグアイ), a landmark of Koriyama Station's west exit, where the 23rd-floor Space Theater holds a Guinness World Record as "the world's highest planetarium from ground level." The dome filled with brilliant stars and seasonal programs take your breath away, whether you're a child or adult. The exhibition zone on the 22nd floor features interactive displays where you can experience the Moon's gravity with "Moon Jump" and practice astronaut training with "Triple Spin," plus popular science shows. Beyond the windows, a panoramic view stretches from Koriyama's cityscape to Mount Adatara, making this a must-see destination where you can enjoy both science and stunning scenery. It's also a reliable option on rainy days.

Tips

Directly connected by pedestrian deck from JR Koriyama Station's west exit, just a short walk away. The exhibition zone and Space Theater require separate admission, so purchasing a combination ticket at the reception is recommended if you want to enjoy both. The interactive attractions such as Moon Jump have restrictions based on height and age, so check on-site for small children. The museum is closed Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday), so check the opening schedule in advance.

Best time to visit

Approximately 2 hours needed. It's less crowded in the late morning right after opening. Check the planetarium showtimes first, then tour the exhibitions for efficiency.
