It's also known as one of Fukushima Prefecture's premier cherry blossom viewing destinations, with the entire park enveloped in cherry blossoms in spring. Spread a picnic sheet on the grass and enjoy the Cream Box from Otomo Bakery—the perfect picnic mood. The park has shops and cafés for additional snacks and drinks. The nearby Kaiseiyama Shrine and Kaisei Hall are walking distance, providing convenient access to historical sites—a welcome feature for families.

Tips

A few minutes by car from Otomo Bakery, or about 10 minutes by bus from Koriyama Station (get off at the Koriyama City Hall area). Parking is available, but the cherry blossom season gets very crowded, so arrive early. The grass has little shade, so don't forget a hat and picnic sheet. Playground equipment is divided by age groups, so smaller children can play safely.
