Tips
Parking lots around the historic district are easier to find in the early morning hours, and it's about a 15-minute walk from JR Kurashiki Station. The cobblestones can be slippery on rainy days, so wear comfortable shoes. If you want to ride the river boat transport (kawafune-nagashi), secure same-day tickets early at the Kurashiki-kan Tourist Information Center.

Allow approximately 1 hour. The mid-morning hours around 9 a.m., before shops open, have fewer visitors and the river surface is calm, creating beautiful reflections of the white walls
