A temple founded by a businessman as an expression of gratitude to his mother, with the entire temple grounds open as a museum. Colorful pagodas modeled after famous buildings from across Japan—including the Koyoumon Gate, modeled on the Toshogu Shrine (日光東照宮) Yomeimon Gate—line the grounds, earning it the nickname "the Nikko of the West." The primary attraction is the alabaster marble garden "Miraishinnokakuoka" (未来心の丘) spreading across the hilltop. This approximately 5,000-square-meter space was created by sculptor Izzo Hisatani using marble from Carrara (カッラーラ), Italy, and the sight of white marble gleaming brilliantly against the blue sky resembles a Mediterranean island. At the hilltop café Cuore (クオーレ), you can enjoy gelato and drinks while gazing at the sea—an unbeatable backdrop for a date's commemorative photo.

Tips

The temple gate stands at the end of Shiomachi Shopping Street and is within easy walking distance. The marble garden has little shade, and the marble's reflection is intense, so sunglasses and a hat will make the visit more comfortable. The marble stairs are difficult to navigate in heels, so sneakers are recommended. Museum tickets also grant access to the art displays inside.
