Located just off the Chugoku Expressway Togōchi IC, this roadside station sits on National Route 191 as the gateway to the town of Aki-Ōta. Inside, you'll find fresh vegetables from local farmers and confections made with the local specialty Gion-bō persimmons, while the bakery's freshly baked bread is perfect for breakfast. Most visitors heading to Sandan-kyō or Shinnyuzan take a break here—it's like the starting point for mountain trips. Since there are few shops along the gorge trails, be sure to stock up on packed lunches and drinks here. Tourist pamphlets are also available, helping you gather the latest information about the area.
