About this spot

A roadside station adjacent to the Yoshii River side of the Udatsu townscape, serving as a base for sightseeing in the area. The atmospheric building, a renovated indigo merchant's storehouse, houses a dining area and product shop where you can leisurely enjoy Tokushima's local cuisine such as soba rice porridge and Awa chicken. The shop displays indigo-dyed scarves and small items, as well as local agricultural products and specialty sweets—perfect for souvenirs and mementos of your trip. After dining, stepping out onto the Yoshii River embankment to gaze at the gently flowing river is also recommended. The spacious parking lot makes it convenient as a departure and return point for the entire course.

Tips

The dining area can be crowded during lunch hours, so shifting your time slightly can allow for a more relaxed experience. Many indigo-dyed products are one-of-a-kind, so if you find something you like, it's recommended to secure it early as a keepsake of your trip.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. Slightly avoiding peak lunch hours allows for a more relaxed experience both in the dining area and shop
