About this spot
A sightseeing lift connecting Minokoshi Station, the trailhead of Tsurugisan, to Nishijima Station on the mountainside, spanning about 330 meters in elevation gain over approximately 15 minutes. Swaying on a single-rider lift about 830 meters long, you slowly ascend over the primeval forest of beech and oak trees. The deep forest spreads at your feet, and as you glance back, layers of Shikoku mountain ranges unfold. With only the sound of wind and birdsong in your ears, this aerial stroll is itself one of the highlights of this course. Nishijima Station, where you disembark, sits at approximately 1,750 meters elevation. From here, it's about a 40-minute walk to the summit, making it a reassuring companion for hiking beginners to reach the peak of a Japan 100 Famous Mountains.
