Outstanding Transparency at a Gently Sloping Beach—Perfect Way to End Your Day
About this spot
A swimming beach in the Yuki district of Minami Town, boasting some of the clearest water in Shikoku. A gently sloping beach with about 1 kilometer of white sand, the calm waves make it safe for small children to play in the water. The water clarity is high—small fish swimming are visible even in shallow water. During beach season, a temporary station called 'Tai-no-hama Station' on the JR Mugi Line opens right beside the beach, and the sight of the ocean spreading out directly in front of the platform is popular with train enthusiasts. In the evening, the inlet is lit by the setting sun and shimmers brilliantly, creating a calm time perfect for closing out your day. A perfect finale to your day in the sea turtle town.
Tips
Outside beach season, there are no lifeguards, so water play should be in shallow areas with adult supervision. Don't forget a change of clothes, towel, and sandals for wet feet. In the evening it can get chilly, so bring a light jacket.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes required. In the evening, the light shines at an angle and the inlet looks most beautiful.
