Picnic Rest on an Elevated Terrace with Seasonal Flowers and Grassy Lawn
About this spot
A free-admission botanical garden adjacent to Tokushima Zoo. Throughout the garden, which takes advantage of the hill's slope, seasonal flowers are planted in flowerbeds and herb gardens are scattered, allowing you to feel the changing seasons simply by following the garden paths. From the elevated grassy lawn, you can overlook the Tokushima city center area, making it perfect for a picnic with a laid-out leisure sheet. It's ideal for a midday lunch break after walking around the zoo, and spending time leisurely surrounded by flower aromas will revitalize you for the afternoon. The Green Consultation Center, where gardening classes are held, is also a worthwhile detour for those who love greenery.
Tips
You can walk from the zoo along connected paths (if driving, proceed to the botanical garden's parking lot). There are no food services in the garden, so bringing a packed lunch to eat on the grassy lawn is recommended. The grassy lawn has limited shade, so don't forget a hat.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 10 minutes required. Midday is perfect for leisurely enjoying a picnic lunch on the grassy lawn.
