Conclude Your Journey with Imabari Towel and Citrus Souvenirs Amid Sunset Bridge Scenery
About this spot
Located on the Shimanami Kaido (Nishi-Seto Expressway), this service area is known as a spectacular scenic spot with views of the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge. From the observation deck, you can see the three-span suspension bridge, the blue strait, and the scattered islands all at once, with views befitting the finale of your drive. The shop stocks Imabari towel accessories, sweets made with Seto Inland Sea citrus, and jako-ten (fish cake), plus Ehime souvenirs. Local gourmet snacks are also available, perfect for satisfying a small appetite while reflecting on your journey. At dusk, the crimson-tinted strait and the silhouette of the bridge evoke the spirit of travel.
Tips
Located just beyond the Imabari IC heading toward Onomichi. The parking lot can get crowded in the evening, so allow extra time. Popular souvenirs sell out quickly, so check the shop first before heading to the observation deck.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1 hour. At dusk, the strait glows crimson, creating the perfect view to end your day.
