Water cascades through a heart-shaped window in the rock—a sacred place for lovers

About this spot

A waterfall with a drop of approximately 34 meters, nestled deep in the forest in the mountains of Tsuno Town. Its most distinctive feature is the heart-shaped rock window at the waterfall's brink. This beloved shape, carved by water over countless years through the hard rock, has made it a sacred destination for couples. Water trickling through the window cascades like silk threads down the rock face and flows into the crystal-clear plunge pool in an almost mystical manner. Surrounded by lush forest, it's a refreshing summer retreat and a renowned autumn foliage spot. Just a short walk from the parking area to the waterfall, making it an easy stop on your drive to the Shikoku Karst.

Tips

The waterfall is just a short walk away, but the ground is wet and slippery, so wear sturdy shoes. The heart-shaped window is best viewed from directly in front of the waterfall. Reception in this mountain area can be weak, so confirm your route while you still have signal.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 40 minutes. Morning light illuminates the waterfall best, making the heart window's outline crisp and clear.
