A small aquarium with a long history, located right next to Katsurahama's sandy beach, affectionately known as "Hama-sui" (ハマスイ). The massive tank featuring the Akaeme (Red-spotted Grouper) fish (アカメ), a legendary species found in Kochi's rivers, is impressive and powerful. The aquarium's greatest appeal is the close proximity to beloved animals such as small-clawed otters, capybaras, and penguins. There are abundant feeding experience options where you can enjoy the adorable actions of the animals up close. Hand-drawn information signs by caretakers and the laid-back mascot character "Otodo-chan" (おとどちゃん) throughout the facility are beloved by visitors. Though small in scale, both children and adults naturally find themselves smiling during their time here.
Tips
Many feeding experiences are limited in quantity, so check the schedule and remaining availability right after entering. Having wet tissues for hand washing after interactions is convenient. The facility's compact size makes it easy to navigate even for preschoolers.
