About this spot

A national park spread across a sandbar wedged between the Genkai Sea and Hakata Bay. The grounds feature flower fields that change with the seasons, spacious lawns, and generously spaced large play structures—so expansive that you cannot cover it all in a day. A must-visit is the "Animal Forest," where you can observe capybaras, kangaroos, goats, and sheep up close and enjoy interactions with them. After lunch at shops or restaurants within the park, leisurely stroll through flower paths while caressed by sea breezes. The spacious grounds are also delightful to explore by rental bicycle. Located right next to Marine World, this park becomes the centerpiece of structuring a day at Umino-Nakamichi.

Tips

The grounds are vast, so the key is to focus on specific areas like the Animal Forest and flower fields. For longer distances, a rental bicycle is convenient. Note that the entrance and admission to Marine World are separate. In seasons with strong sunlight, shade is limited, so don't forget a hat and something to drink.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 2 hours 15 minutes. Early afternoon is when animals are most visible and flower fields are most colorful in daylight.
