Scenic Cruise Between Islands on a White Boat – Approximately 50 Minutes

About this spot

A sightseeing boat with a distinctive white hull departing from the pier at Ninety-Nine Islands Pearl Sea Resort. The approximately 50-minute cruise winds between the islands floating in the intricate waters of the rias coastline. The "ninety-nine" of Ninety-Nine Islands refers to a countless multitude; in reality, over 200 islands stretch across this area, and the island density is said to be the highest in Japan. Venturing onto the deck, you will be buffeted by sea breezes as verdant uninhabited islands and pearl cultivation rafts flow past one after another. The vantage point so close to the water's surface offers a power and majesty that cannot be experienced from a distant viewpoint. This is a spectacular vista unique to viewing from the sea—quite different from the view looking down from an observatory.

Tips

The deck can be windy; even in summer, bringing a light jacket is wise. To fully enjoy the scenery, board early and secure a favorite spot on the deck. Departure times are fixed, so plan to finish your aquarium visit with time to spare.

Best time to visit

Plan for approximately 1 hour (approximately 50 minutes sailing time). On a clear day when sunlight reflects off the water, the islands are at their most beautiful.
