About this spot

A renowned flower destination in Kobayashi City, Miyazaki Prefecture, spreading across the foothills of the Kirishima mountain range. In spring, poppies paint the landscape, while in autumn, cosmos take over—and the sight of Kirishima's peaks rising beyond the flowers is a view found nowhere else. The garden features gently winding paths that follow the natural contours, offering picture-perfect photo spots at every turn. The souvenir shop is known for its signature flower soft-serve ice cream, perfect for a break while gazing at the flower fields. The gift shop also carries local specialty products, making it an ideal place to spend a leisurely afternoon—one of the highlights of the Kirishima Panorama Drive.

Tips

The flower fields have little shade, so hats and sunscreen are recommended. During peak bloom on weekends, the parking lot can become congested, so allow plenty of time. Bloom conditions vary by season, so checking official information beforehand is advisable.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Late afternoon light brings out the most stunning colors in both the Kirishima peaks and the flower fields.
