About this spot

Located in Mizobe, Kirishima City, close to Kagoshima Airport, this is a shochu distillery theme park recreating the streets of Prague, the historic capital of the Czech Republic. Orange rooftops and a cobblestone-style plaza give it a rich exotic atmosphere, with one photogenic scene after another. Inside, visitors can view an authentic shochu distillery through glass, getting a close look at the shochu-making process. The shop carries the distillery's own shochu along with Czech-inspired glassware and other goods, making it a great place to hunt for souvenirs. Admission is free, adding to its appeal as an easy stop, and it brings a touch of shochu culture, along with a slightly curious and fun detour, to a day spent touring the home of black vinegar.

Tips

Since this is a drive course, drivers should skip the shochu tasting and enjoy it through souvenirs instead. The grounds are spacious with many photogenic spots, so allow plenty of time to explore. Being located right next to Kagoshima Airport, it's also easy to fit into an itinerary that includes air travel.
