A historical tourism facility located in Kajiya Town, which produced such Restoration heroes as Saigō Takamori and Okubo Toshimichi. The location itself along the Karatsu River conveys the atmosphere of the town where these heroes were raised. The highlight is the dramatic presentation held in the basement Ishin Experience Hall. Using robots and large-scale video projections, this immersive production allows visitors to experience the dramatic history from the late Edo period Satsuma through the Meiji Restoration in an easily understandable way. The museum also displays information about "Gochū Education," Satsuma's unique system of character development, and exhibits showcasing the true nature of the heroes, allowing both children and adults to enjoy learning about history.

The basement hall drama has set performance times, so check the next showing time upon entry and plan your route through the exhibits accordingly for efficiency. Birthplace markers of Restoration heroes are scattered along the nearby Karatsu River, so if you have time, you can enjoy a historical walk along the riverbank before or after visiting the museum.
