About this spot
A zone particularly popular with children within Showa Kinen National Government Park, featuring large wooden athletic equipment, playgrounds, a bouncy dome, and other facilities for active play. Once you enter the park, there are no additional fees to use these facilities, which is wonderful for families with children. The area also has plenty of tree shade, allowing for relatively cool enjoyment even in summer. Before the fireworks show, move around vigorously, then settle down in the evening for securing your viewing spot. From the athletic equipment, moving to Minna no Harappa (みんなの原っぱ) in the park's central area is within walking distance.

2026年7月25日(土)19時15分から1時間、国営昭和記念公園みんなの原っぱの上空に約5,000発の花火が打ち上がります。遮るものがない18万平方メートルの広大な芝生からは、花火が真上に近い角度で開くため、都心の花火大会にはないスケールと迫力を体全体で感じられます。芝生に寝転がりながら見上げる花火は、立川まつりならではの楽しみ方です。スターマインや大玉が次々と開くフィナーレの連発は、夜空を丸ごと使った圧巻の光景で、夏の1日のクライマックスにふさわしい締めくくりとなります。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は立川まつり実行委員会の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は公園の各出口と立川駅・西立川駅が大変混み合います。フィナーレ後は芝生でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから、混雑が落ち着いたころに帰路につくのがおすすめです。帰りは西立川駅(JR青梅線)の利用も混雑分散に有効です。
Tips
Approximately 15 minutes on foot from the Tachikawa entrance through the park. Free to use with park admission included. During busy times, there may be lines for popular play equipment, so allow plenty of time to enjoy. There is a restroom and water fountain nearby, so take advantage during breaks in play.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. With plenty of tree shade, you can play relatively comfortably even in the afternoon
