Since the park's shops and vendor stalls become very crowded from evening onward on the fireworks show day, completing your shopping at the station building at this time allows you to head to your viewing spot with peace of mind. Items on your checklist such as garbage bags and insect repellent spray can also be found at convenience stores and drugstores. The distance to the park is walkable from the station, so gather all your necessities together.

Tips

Approximately 5 minutes on foot from JR Tachikawa Station North Exit to the Tachikawa entrance of Showa Kinen National Government Park. The station building's prepared food section becomes crowded from evening, so arriving in the 4 PM hour is recommended. Prepare drinks for everyone and a bit extra. It can get cool at night, so having a warm drink or two is reassuring.
