Tokyo Skytree Tembo Deck (Observation Deck)

Flow of the course

About this spot

From the Tembo Deck (350 meters high) of the 634-meter-tall Tokyo Skytree, you can see the entire Sumida River winding its way toward Tokyo Bay and the downtown cityscape. You can also spot from above the riverside stretch from Sakura Bridge to Kurogane Bridge where tonight's fireworks will take place, making it ideal for getting a sense of the viewing spots. On clear days, you can see as far as Mount Fuji and Mount Tsukuba, offering a breathtaking panorama. Night views are also renowned for their beauty, but for enjoying the pre-dusk atmosphere before the fireworks, an afternoon visit during daylight hours is easier to navigate and recommended.

Tips

From Asakusa, it's right next to Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu Skytree Line, or about 15 minutes on foot. Admission tickets can be purchased in advance with time-slot reservations through the official website. On the festival day, crowds are expected, so advance purchase is reassuring. Admission to the Tembo Deck is 2,100 yen for adults (as of 2024) and subject to change, so check the official website for current pricing.

Best time to visit

Approximately 2 hours required. Afternoon sunlight makes the river surface sparkle beautifully, offering the best views.
