About this spot

The vast Arakawa riverbed spreading across both sides of Toda Bridge—the Itabashi Ward side and the Toda City side—is the main viewing area for the Itabashi Fireworks Festival. With grassy expanses where you can spread a leisure sheet and relax comfortably, the riverbed is an ideal location for family viewing. The area gradually fills with spot-seekers as evening approaches, so arrive by the 4 p.m. hour to secure your viewing spot. Spread out the food you've procured, finish dinner, and as the sky gradually darkens, you'll find that waiting for the show to begin while watching the color changes in the evening sky is one of the great pleasures of this fireworks viewing experience.

いたばし花火大会は、板橋区の荒川河川敷・戸田橋付近を会場に毎年夏に開催される、地域を代表する花火大会です。広大な荒川の河川敷から遮るものなく見上げる空に、次々と大輪の花火が開く迫力は格別で、川面に映る光の揺らぎも見事です。河川敷の芝生にシートを敷いてのんびり観覧できるスタイルは、小さな子どもを連れたファミリーにもやさしい環境です。対岸の埼玉県戸田市側でも花火大会が同時開催されることが多く、両岸から花火が上がるスケール感も楽しみのひとつ。夏の夜空を彩る光と音のフィナーレを、家族でそろって楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は板橋区の公式発表を事前・当日ともに確認してください。終了後は最寄り駅やバス停が大変混雑します。終了後すぐに移動せず、河川敷で少し余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰宅すると比較的スムーズです。帰り道は足元が暗い箇所もあるため、スマートフォンのライトを活用しましょう。

Tips

From Akabane Station, it's convenient to move toward Toda Bridge area by bus or taxi. If walking, it takes about 20–25 minutes from Akabane Station. Traffic restrictions will be in place on some roads on the day, so check the festival's official announcements and traffic information in advance. Portable toilets will be installed, but expect lines before the show starts.
