Next stop: Approximately 8,400 Fireworks Bloom Across the Night Sky of the Miyagawa: Ise Shrine's Summer Grand FestivalAbout this spot
The Miyagawa riverbank, where the fireworks launch, expands into a viewing area along the embankment upstream from Tokaikaido Bridge. As evening approaches, food stalls begin to line the area, building festival atmosphere. About two hours before the show, the time for food stall dining and spot-holding doubles as a restful intermission. The river breeze creates comfortable evening air. As the sun sets, the river's surface shifts to an indigo hue, and trees on the far bank become silhouettes—a quiet climax before the fireworks. Use this time to note the restroom locations and emergency exits.
Tips
About 20–25 minutes on foot from Ise Station, or by bus or taxi from Ujiyamada Station or Ise Station. Traffic restrictions are in effect on festival day; check official traffic guidance beforehand. Popular viewing spots fill quickly, so arrive in the early 5 PM hour for security. Food stall lines lengthen after 6 PM, so go early.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 40 minutes total. Enjoy the Miyagawa's evening scenery while anticipating the fireworks.
