About this spot

The area in front of Toba Station, close to Mikimoto Pearl Island, is home to restaurants and souvenir shops selling seafood from the Ise-Shima sea. You can enjoy set meals and seafood rice bowls made with Ise lobster, abalone, and fresh seafood, as well as takeout skewers and fried food — food unique to a port town. On the day of the fireworks display, tourists surge in from the evening onward and restaurants get crowded, so it's best to enter and finish dinner sometime in the 4pm hour for peace of mind. This is also a good time to stock up on drinks and snacks at a nearby convenience store and do a final check of your viewing gear. The waterfront along Toba Bay, where the fireworks venue is, is within walking distance from here.

Tips

A short walk from Kintetsu/JR Toba Station. To avoid crowds, it's recommended to enter restaurants between 4:30 and 5pm. Convenience stores in front of the station may sell out of drinks and food on the evening of the fireworks display, so it's a good idea to stop by and stock up early while sightseeing. It's also worth checking restroom locations in advance.
