Crossing the connecting bridge right beside Toba Aquarium, you'll reach Mikimoto Pearl Island—the historic site where Mikimoto Kokichi achieved the world's first successful pearl cultivation in 1893. The island's main attraction is undoubtedly the diver demonstration, where pearl divers in white work clothes dive without breathing apparatus into the sea—a truly impressive sight. At the Pearl Museum, you can learn about Mikimoto Kokichi's life and the history of the pearl industry through videos and exhibits, engaging even adult visitors. Walking along the island's promenade with views of Toba Bay, you'll see the very bay where tonight's fireworks will launch, connecting the day's narrative. 開催時間は「2026年7月24日(金) 時間未定」のため、鳥羽市の公式発表を必ず事前に確認してください。荒天時の開催可否も公式情報を参照のこと。終了後は鳥羽駅周辺が混み合うため、フィナーレ後は湾沿いで少し余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰路につくのがおすすめ。近鉄・JR鳥羽駅の帰りの電車時刻は事前に確認しておきましょう。

About 3 minutes on foot from Toba Aquarium; cross the connecting bridge to reach the island. Diver demonstrations occur several times daily (times vary seasonally, so check the on-site bulletin board). Demonstrations may be cancelled due to weather. Secure seats near the demonstration area early. Island admission is 1,650 yen for adults.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 25 minutes. The afternoon sunlight makes Toba Bay's water sparkle beautifully, and the island views are especially lovely during this time.
