The riverbank of the Nabari River (名張川) that serves as the venue for the Nabari River Summer Fireworks Festival (名張川納涼花火大会). As evening approaches, outdoor food stalls line up and the festival atmosphere builds. Enjoy classic summer-festival food like yakisoba, fried chicken, and shaved ice while spreading out a leisure sheet to secure your viewing spot. The evening breeze along the river is cool, and spending time watching the sky change color as the sun sets is one of the pleasures before the fireworks begin. It's reassuring to check restroom and venue facilities early.

Tips

About a 10-15 minute walk from Kintetsu Nabari Station (近鉄名張駅). On the day of the fireworks festival, surrounding roads and parking lots get very crowded, so we recommend using public transportation. Convenience stores and restaurants near the venue tend to sell out from the evening onward, so get your drinks and snacks early. This is also a good time to reapply insect repellent.
