Kuwana is known as the home of hamaguri (littleneck clams) from the senryu poem, "That hand is the baked hamaguri of Kuwana." The urban area around the station gathers local restaurants and shops, many of which serve hamaguri-based cuisine. From evening onward on the day of the fireworks festival, the area around the venue becomes extremely crowded, so it is wise to finish dinner in this area before moving to the venue. After your meal, walk through the shopping street to procure drinks and light snacks needed for tonight's fireworks festival; prepare items here that may be hard to find at vendor stalls.

2026年7月25日(土)19時30分打ち上げ開始、桑名水郷花火大会の観覧です。揖斐川の川面の上空に約10,000発が打ち上がり、広い川幅をいかした大型スターマインや尺玉が夜空を埋め尽くします。水郷の街ならではの川面への映り込みが美しく、花火の光が川の流れの上で揺れる光景は、陸の花火大会とはひと味違う情緒があります。腹に響く打ち上げ音と、川から吹き上がる涼風が夏の夜を演出します。21時のフィナーレまで、1時間30分にわたる大会のクライマックスをゆっくり楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天・増水時は中止または延期になる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は桑名市の公式発表で確認を。終了後は桑名駅への帰路が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後は少し河畔で余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰宅するか、徒歩で駅方向へ向かいながら混雑をやり過ごすのがおすすめです。足元が暗い場所もあるため、スマホのライトや小型ライトを用意しておきましょう。

Tips

Within walking distance from Kintetsu/JR Kuwana Station. On the day of the fireworks festival, restaurants become crowded from early hours, so plan to finish eating by the early 4 PM hour at the latest. Convenience stores also tend to sell out of beverages and ice on the day of the fireworks, so early procurement is recommended.
