Located in the center of Hisui town, Hisui Hachiman Shrine has been enshrined as the principal protector shrine of the town since the founding of the Hisui Domain. The shrine grounds are surrounded by trees, creating a pleasant space where summer sunlight is softened by shade. Walking across the stone pavement of the shrine approach and offering prayers will renew your spirit as you head toward the evening's fireworks festival. Since the Hisui Fireworks Festival is also a major summer event for the community, pausing to offer a prayer at the shrine grounds before viewing creates a sense of unity throughout the day's flow. While the shrine grounds are not expansive, they offer a precious quiet space.

久居花火大会は、陸上自衛隊久居駐屯地グラウンドを会場に毎年多くの来場者を集める三重県内有数の花火大会です。2026年は8月1日(土)の18時から20時30分まで、約5,000発が久居の夏の夜空を彩ります。自衛隊のグラウンドという広々とした空間で間近に打ち上がる花火は、音の迫力が格別で、スターマインや大玉の連続打ち上げが夜空を次々と埋め尽くします。2時間30分という長い開催時間も魅力のひとつで、腰を落ち着けてじっくり楽しめます。地域の人々が待ち望む夏の風物詩として、久居の夜を豊かに演出する大会です。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は津市または大会公式の発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路が混雑するため、久居駅方面への帰りは時間差での移動がおすすめです。近鉄久居駅の帰りの電車時刻は事前に調べておきましょう。足元が暗くなるので、スマートフォンのライト機能が役立ちます。

Tips

About 5 minutes on foot from Tōdō Takatsuji Park and also within walking distance of Hisui Station. Prayers are free. In summer, there are many mosquitoes in the shrine grounds, so it's a good idea to start using insect repellent spray from this point on.
