Around Chushojima Station (中書島駅), one of the nearest stations to Kyoto Racecourse (京都競馬場), you'll find casual restaurants serving set meals and noodles. Since the area around the venue gets more crowded from evening onward on the day of the fireworks, it's wise to finish your meal calmly during this window. After eating, check the restrooms and organize your belongings to get ready to head to Kyoto Racecourse. From Chushojima to Yodo Station (淀駅), the nearest station to Kyoto Racecourse, is about a 10-minute ride on the Keihan Main Line, making for a smooth transfer.

Tips

On the day of the fireworks, nearby restaurants start getting crowded from the evening. Entering around 4 PM is a good way to minimize your wait. There are also stalls inside the venue, but their selection is limited and lines form, so it's a good idea to get drinks and snacks at this stage. Finish any convenience store shopping early too.
