Shio-Ashiya Beach, the very venue of tonight's fireworks display, is a well-maintained sandy beach facing Osaka Bay. Once you've secured your viewing spot in the evening, have dinner using the food stalls set up on the day or food you've brought with you in advance. As the sun sets over the horizon of Osaka Bay to the west, the sky changes from orange to deep indigo — a spectacular sight unique to the seaside in summer. The beach gradually fills up with viewers, so it's best to stake out your spot early. It's also a good idea to check the locations of restrooms and stalls at this time, for peace of mind during the evening viewing. Spending the dusk amid the sound of the waves and the sea breeze while quietly waiting for the fireworks to begin is the lead-in to the climax of the day.

Tips

The roads and parking around the venue get extremely crowded on the day of the fireworks. Public transportation (such as a bus from Hanshin Ashiya Station) is recommended. Since the food stalls around the venue get crowded, it's reassuring to buy food early or prepare it in advance. Please take your trash home with you.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours. Arriving on the beach around sunset lets you enjoy both the sunset and the fireworks
