Next stop: Enjoy the Spectacular Fireworks Display of Approximately 10,000 Bursts at the Kushiro River MouthAbout this spot
Kushiro is said to be the birthplace of robatayaki, and from near Kushiro Station to the area around Nusamai Bridge, there are many restaurants serving robatayaki and fresh seafood. Robatayaki—fresh seafood slowly grilled over charcoal—is a traditional local food culture you should definitely experience when visiting Kushiro. Since September nights in Kushiro can be quite cold, it's important to warm yourself with a hearty meal before viewing the fireworks. Enjoy Kushiro's flavors with your whole family and build excitement for the fireworks to come.
Tips
Restaurants are scattered throughout the area from near Kushiro Station to around Nusamai Bridge. On the festival day's evening, congestion is expected, so arriving early around 4 PM or making a reservation in advance is recommended. After the meal, you can walk to the Kushiro River mouth viewing area. Be sure to dress warmly at this point.
Best time to visit
Approximately 2 hours required. Finishing your meal and heading to the venue about 1 hour before the fireworks begin will give you plenty of time.
