About this spot

A leading park in Ichikawa City, set on the heights of Konodai (国府台), with a hilly lawn area, a rose garden, and other landscaped grounds. From the viewpoint overlooking the Edo River (江戸川), you can get a daytime look at the riverbed where tonight's fireworks will be launched. With plenty of green trees and shade, the park stays relatively cool even in midsummer. Many families come to enjoy picnics here, making it a perfect spot to start a relaxed afternoon. There is also a playground area within the park, so it can be enjoyed even with small children.

Tips

About a 7-minute walk from Keisei Ichikawa-Mama Station (京成市川真間駅), or accessible by bus from JR Ichikawa Station (市川駅). Admission is free. Paid parking is available. The rose garden is at its best in spring and autumn, but the summer greenery is also well worth seeing. There are restrooms in several locations, so take the chance to check the view toward the Edo River as a preview for fireworks day.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. Late morning to midday, before the afternoon heat, is a comfortably cool time to visit under the trees
