About this spot

An ancient Nichiren Buddhist temple built on the middle slope of Mama Mountain, traditionally said to have been founded by Gyoki in the Nara period. Ancient cedar trees line both sides of the stone steps of the approach path, and entering the grounds immerses you in a peaceful silence as if summer's heat fades away. Historic structures such as the Nio Gate and main hall remain, representing one of Ichikawa's cultural treasures. The grounds also offer a viewpoint overlooking the Ichikawa townscape. Before the fireworks festival, this quintessentially Ichikawa spot allows you to spend time touching the region's history.

2026年8月1日(土)19時15分から20時20分まで、江戸川河川敷の大洲3丁目地先で開催される市川市民納涼花火大会です。約14,000発という圧倒的な打上数が自慢で、夜空を埋め尽くすスターマインや大玉が次々と炸裂します。幅広い江戸川の川幅をスクリーンに、対岸の東京側からも観覧者が集まる大規模な花火大会。川を渡る夜風の中で楽しむ花火は、夏の市川の風物詩として地域に根付いています。1時間5分のプログラムは盛りだくさんで、フィナーレの連発は空全体が光に包まれる圧巻のスペクタクルです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は市川市の公式発表で確認を。終了直後は最寄り駅や路線バスが大混雑するため、フィナーレ後は河川敷でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから帰宅すると混雑を緩和できます。帰り道の河川敷は暗いので足元に注意し、小さなライトがあると安心。JR市川駅・本八幡駅のほか、京成市川真間駅への分散帰宅もおすすめです。

Tips

About 10 minutes walk from Satomi Park. Free admission. Wear comfortable shoes as stone steps continue. In summer, the temple grounds' shade is pleasant and offers a nice rest spot. Nearby historical sites such as Mama's Tsugihashi Bridge and Te-ko-na Reishin-do are within walking distance; if time permits, you can stop by these as well.
