Located at the northern end of Kujukuri Beach (九十九里浜), Iioka Coast (飯岡海岸) is itself the venue for tonight's fireworks festival. Its shallow, sandy shore stretches wide, and in autumn, past the swimming season, you can enjoy the sea breeze in a calm atmosphere. Arrive early in the evening, spread out a picnic sheet, and take your time waiting for the show while finishing dinner from food you brought or from nearby stalls. Sunset in October comes early, around 6 p.m., and the sky's colors shifting moment by moment as the sun goes down is one of the highlights. The quiet of the sand and the sound of the surf before the fireworks begin will help you relax.

Tips

Roads around the area get congested in the evening on the day of the fireworks festival, so head over early to arrive around 4 p.m. Convenience stores and stands near the venue can sell out early, so pick up drinks and snacks ahead of time. Check restroom locations before it gets crowded. Nights by the sea in October are chilly, so put on an extra layer soon after sunset.
