The Osagami Flood Control Reservoir, spreading out near Koshigaya Laketown Station, serves a flood-control function while being cherished by residents as a waterside park. A walking trail is maintained around it, ideal for a leisurely stroll while looking out over the water. There's also a spacious lawn area, giving children plenty of room to run around. Though the summer sun can be strong, the breeze off the water is pleasant, making for a cool afternoon before the fireworks. The commercial facilities of Koshigaya Laketown are also right nearby, convenient for picking up drinks and snacks.
Tips
Just a short walk from Koshigaya Laketown Station on the Musashino Line. Admission is free. Don't forget a hat and sunscreen for days with strong sun. You can rest and restock at the food court or shops in the adjoining commercial facilities. Getting to the fireworks venue requires heading back toward Koshigaya Station.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. Early afternoon, when the breeze off the water feels pleasant, is recommended.
