Oita Prefecture's largest department store located in the city center, with an extensive selection of Oita specialties and prepared foods in the basement food floor. Since restaurants and food vendors throughout the city become crowded from evening onward on the fireworks festival day, purchasing dinner and light meals here in advance provides peace of mind. The store is connected to the "Galleria Takecho" (ガレリア竹町) and "Chuo-cho Shopping Street" (中央町商店街) arcades, where you can shop and sample food while enjoying air conditioning. It's a convenient hub for finding children's souvenirs and cold sweets as well.

Tips

A 5-minute walk from JR Oita Station, or head straight through the arcade in front of Oita Station. In addition to purchasing food and prepared meals at the basement food floor, having lunch at nearby arcade restaurants is also recommended. Since the evening of the fireworks day becomes crowded, visit at this earlier time with plenty of margin.
