Take a rest at a park with a 6th-century large keyhole-shaped mound and lush greenery

About this spot

Imashiro Tumulus Park in Takatsuki City is a historical park developed around "Imashiro Tumulus," a large keyhole-shaped mound believed to have been constructed in the early 6th century. Some theories suggest it was the true mausoleum of Emperor Keitoku. The perimeter of the mound is maintained as a manicured lawn, and the "Haniwa Festival Plaza" displays reconstructed clay figurines and is very popular with children. The Imashiro Ancient History Museum on the grounds features easy-to-understand displays of excavated artifacts and information about how the mound was constructed, making it educational. The wide, green surroundings allow for leisurely walks and are a perfect spot to conserve energy before the evening fireworks.

Date & time: 9/20 (Sun) 19:10–20:00

Tips
