About this spot

A nature-rich park spreading across Mt. Satsuki (五月山) in the north of Ikeda City, and a representative green space of the city. Climbing the walking trails laid out on the mountainside brings you to a viewpoint overlooking the townscape from the Inagawa River (猪名川) basin toward Itami and Kawanishi. November is autumn-foliage season, making it a pleasant time for a walk among the colored trees. The park also has an animal corner and a lawn plaza, spacious enough for children to run around, which adds to its appeal. Taking in the Inagawa riverbed from this high vantage point in daylight, where tonight's fireworks will launch, makes the evening viewing even more exciting.

Tips

About a 15-minute walk from Hankyu Ikeda Station (阪急池田駅), or you can take the Ikeda City community bus. Admission is free. The walking trails include slopes, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Sunset comes early in November, so coming down the mountain by around 4pm and heading to the next spot leaves you with a comfortable margin of time.
