View the medieval mountain castle ruins and restored corner tower, touching Ikeda's history
About this spot
A park developed on the site of Ikeda Castle, which was governed by the Ikeda clan during the Sengoku period. Today, the corner tower has been restored based on the original castle remains, with its white walls and tiled roof beautifully complemented by the autumn blue sky. From the elevated hill of the castle ruins, you can overlook the Ikeda city streets, experiencing the town from a different angle than Satsukiyama Park. Historical information panels are also installed, making it ideal to walk around imagining how the castle looked back then, even with children. The free admission is also appealing, allowing for a casual visit.

Venue:
Tips

Turn this into a day plan with stall time includedTips
Within walking distance from Satsukiyama Park. Admission is free. The castle ruins area has uneven terrain, so watch your footing. In autumn evenings, the sun sets early—after 4 PM, it becomes dark, so complete your visit while there's still light and head toward the river bank area.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1 hour. The afternoon slanting light beautifully illuminates the restored corner tower's white walls.
